A list of postnatal meet ups and mum and baby classes operating as face to face and in person in the local area (Herts, Beds & Bucks)
I usually recommend that expectant and new parents take a look at the Hoop App. It was great for finding locals parents groups, baby classes and coffee mornings. Unfortunately the app has been closed, due to a lack of revenue during the lockdown and subsequent tighter restrictions. However the need for these in person meet ups has not evaporated.
A common theme that has been raised multiple times, both in my Pregnancy Relaxation classes and my free Postnatal Mums Meets & Coffee Mornings has been how much new parents love seeing other people in real life. Having been classed as highly vulnerable during pregnancy, it genuinely helps to see others once baby arrives. It is also about baby’s learning to socialise and see other little baby faces!
There has been so much confusion about which postnatal meet ups and mum and baby classes are back on, even now many are not fully up and running. There has been difficulty in finding out which classes are running virtually only. And, of course, which classes are running as face to face.
I can’t replicate Hoop, but I can try and do my little bit to support the parents that I have taught and those in the local community. As the parents that attend my courses will testify to, I am not a techie. This list is just that, a list. If someone with tech ability would like to offer their time to make it more user friendly, I will happily accept some help. In addition, there is a new app called Happity which seems to be growing in success and accuracy and you may wish to take a look at that.

I am trying to split the classes between toddlers and mum and baby sessions (non-movers), as I know that each month can make such a huge difference when our little ones are small and this can affect the support and network we grow at each of these classes.
This list is very much a work in progress but I hope it helps you a little. It is going to be a labour of love. I need your feedback to make it work, please let me know of any inaccuracies. If you would prefer it ordered by day, rather than location that would also be helpful to know.
